Are you confused about all the different names for artificial grass? It’s fair enough if you are — there have been many different names used over the years.
That’s why we’ve put together this little guide that explains the difference between artificial grass, synthetic grass, AstroTurf, fake grass and other commonly used terms.
Also, read on to find out about the Turf Green range of grasses — and why ours are the highest quality on the market.
What is artificial grass?
Artificial grass is a carpet of green synthetic fibres that are made to look like real grass.
- artificial turf
- synthetic grass
- synthetic turf.
- Carpet Grass
- Faux Turf
What is AstroTurf?
No one really uses the term AstroTurf anymore to refer to synthetic grasses. That is unless, of course, they’re referring to the actual product, AstroTurf. AstroTurf isn’t a general term for Artificial grass.
What is fake grass?
Fake grass is a general term that was once popular to describe manufactured grass. But, like AstroTurf, this term has fallen out of favour and isn’t used very often in the synthetic grass industry.
So, there’s no need to use the term ‘fake grass’ to refer to modern grasses. Instead, we suggest calling it Artificial grass or synthetic turf, etc.
